Colorado Special Districts (including Cordillera Valley Club Metropolitan District) are required to hold Director elections for the District’s Board of Directors in May of even numbered years. The District’s May 2020 Director election is cancelled, since there were no more candidates than positions to be filled. The attached notice has additional information.
The next Director’s election is scheduled for May of 2022. Anyone interested in learning more about the District, or becoming a Director, is encouraged to attend Director’s meetings. These meetings are open to the public.
All candidates must file a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form with the Designated Election Official between January and February of the election year. Specific deadlines and additional information will be posted towards the end of 2019.
In order to be eligible to run for a Board seat a person must be an “eligible elector” in the District which is defined as a registered voter of Colorado and either:
1. A resident of the District for not less than 30 days, or
2. The owner ( or spouse of the owner) of taxable real or personal property situated in the District, or
3. A person obligated to pay taxes under a contract of purchase taxable property.
